Hsheehan :
Hi,
I'm not sure if this counts as a 'gamebook', but there was a series of 3 or 4 books with multiple routes I half remember reading as a ten year old in school in the UK.
While there was no dice rolling involved, there were clues to which routes to take from details in the pictures. The books were aimed at 8-10 year olds and were about A4 sized with about 50 pages. The pages were very picture heavy, with (from what I remember) very short descriptions.
The only specific story I remember is centred around a scary looking carnival. I remember going around one corner to be confronted with a blazing fire and having to turn back.
There was also a scenario with a large type of chemistry set and you had to pick which tap to turn, out of about four possible ones by tracing a tangle of glass tubes.
If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, I would be very grateful for your information. I know that the above info is not much to go on.
